On Saturday the 5th of October, a panel discussion was held at the Plymouth International on the question of Historic narratives and perceived identity - how do the stories of our past shape our community? The panel was chaired by Jay Ruka, and included Richard Shaw, Dame Anne Salmond, Dinnie Moeahu, Zara Stanhope, Tuhi-Ao Bailey and Andrew Judd. Speakers were Dr Ruakere Hond, and Fesaitu Solomone (Chief Executive Officer, Centre for Pacific Languages). Access Radio Taranaki was there to record the kōrero, and are proud to offer this in a 3 part series.

There Is No Other Home But This

Such an enlightening community kōrero at Govett Brewster Art Gallery with Parihaka resident Maata Wharehoka and Jay Ruka, Dean of Taranaki Cathedral at St Mary’s. The kaupapa is tied to themes found in the current exhibition "There IS No Other Home but This" with Areez Katki and Khadim Ali – themes of stolen land, legacies of colonialism, displacement and home.
